Winston-Salem, N.C., October 24, 2014 – EduCon Educational Consulting announced today it has named Andrew LaRowe president of the company.
Founded by Nelson Jessup in 1996, EduCon offers energy management consulting and energy management software tools to schools, colleges, businesses and non-profits. Jessup will serve as chief executive officer and continue his full-time, daily involvement in leadership of the company.
LaRowe brings significant experience in the development and implementation of energy programs for school districts. During the past 27 years, he has worked in planning, designing, constructing, and operating school facilities, most recently serving as chief operations officer for Guilford County Schools. He also served several years as supervisor of facilities for Progress Energy.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work with EduCon,” said LaRowe. “Nelson and I worked closely together at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools many years ago when I was director of maintenance and he was interim superintendent. We reunited this year to work with Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools and saw the possibility of doing much more together. EduCon is well positioned strategically and operationally to help its clients save on energy costs. I’m excited about our terrific team and the prospect of adding to the impressive accomplishments of EduCon Educational Consulting.”
LaRowe will focus on business development, operations and new technology. He will continue to work in Winston Salem where EduCon is headquartered.
“Andy brings a broad background and extensive experience to EduCon and will lead key strategies to ensure EduCon’s growth,” said Jessup. “EduCon is primed to make further strides to help our clients with energy efficiency and sustainability solutions.”
