After initial discussions with Board members and senior staff of The Children’s Home, BAISCA developed a proposed scope of work outlining consulting services divided into three separate proposals.
The work included development of a Comprehensive Facilities Plan along with an Operations and Maintenance Assessment. Additionally, the Board was engaged in multiple discussions at the time involving land use and real estate negotiations. They desired to have a “point person,” knowledgeable about their circumstances and needs, to meet with the interested parties.
Once the overall scope of work was defined, BAISCA proposed a project schedule and fee basis with defined deliverables. During the contract period, the Children’s Home merged with the Crossnore School. Due to critical vacancies in facilities operations, BAISCA was asked to provide interim leadership with maintenance staff, contract management and farm operations. Once all positions were filled, all reports were completed with final documents being delivered on August 23, 2016.
According to Brett Loftis, CEO of the Crossnore School & Children’s Home, The services BAISCA performed provided the basis for critical shifts in operations and the framework for facilities planning that are still in use today.
“I am particularly thankful to Andy LaRowe and his company BAISCA for their work in helping us move the TCH campus forward. During this time of transition, Andy and his team have also filled in some of the many holes that exist in our infrastructure. They have helped us see where we need to build or rebuild support for the operations of our campus.
