Over the course of several years, the WS/Forsyth County Schools system contracted BAISCA to perform building asset inventories and single component assessments. These projects included:
- Survey of the condition of sidewalks, primarily at high schools, to identify issues for maintenance and/or repair;
- Extensive analysis detailing the condition of covered walkways. BAISCA measured each walkway and noted whether there was enough coverage for school bus drop-off and parent drop-off;
- Review of schematic floor plans. BAISCA inspected floor plans to determine whether updates were required. The school district needed to investigate the status of floor plans to ensure that first responders have accurate information available in the case of emergency.
The projects undertaken by BAISCA were in the interest of the safety and well-being of the district’s tens of thousands of students.
